PhD Programme in Studies on Organized Crime
The PhD Programme in Studies on Organized Crime at the University of Milan, coordinated by Prof. Roberto Cornelli, is an advanced research programme dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of organized crime, its transformations, and strategies for its prevention and eradication.
The programme brings together perspectives and methodologies from a range of disciplines, including sociology, criminology, law, economics, and political science, to examine organized crime in its social, political, economic, institutional, and cultural dimensions. Particular attention is paid to the relationships between criminal organizations, institutions, and society; illicit markets; anti-mafia policies; and national and international cooperation.
The programme aims to train highly qualified researchers capable of developing original analyses and innovative approaches to understanding complex and constantly evolving criminal phenomena. It combines teaching, seminars, and research activities, fostering dialogue across disciplines and engagement with institutions and organizations working to prevent and combat organized crime.
