Criminology, Rights Security, and Urban Policies

Organized by CRIMePO, the Research Center for Criminology and Public Policy, and sponsored by the Italian Forum for Urban Security and Avviso Pubblico, this Advanced Training Course on Criminology, Rights Security and Urban Policies (“Criminologia, Sicurezza dei Diritti e Politiche Urbane”) offers a comprehensive criminological perspective on major topics related to urban security, including: crime and local diagnostics, insecurity and youth groups, cities and urban planning, policing and change, punishment and territory, gender and violence, migrants and unaccompanied foreign minors, market dynamics as well as surveillance, democracy, and dissent.

In addition, the course aims to strengthen the ability to design innovative and democratic security policies by analyzing and discussing practical cases that reinforce the protection of rights.

The program is held in Italian and is designed for public administration staff, third-sector organizations, policymakers, as well as professionals working in urban security and the development of innovative policies and services.

Classes will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of attendance issued by the University of Milan, following attendance verification and successful completion of the final exam.
