Inauguration Ceremony of La Statale for Peace 2026

La Statale for Peace 2026 returns this year with a new event dedicated to reflection and dialogue on peace, social justice, and the challenges of today’s international context.
Promoted by the University of Milan, the initiative aims to provide the university community and the wider public with an open space for dialogue, cultural exploration, and exchange, contributing to the development and promotion of an authentic culture of peace. This commitment reflects the University’s ongoing engagement with society and the local community, in continuity with the activities of RUniPace – Italian Universities Network for Peace, established by CRUI, of which the University of Milan has been a member since 2019.
The inauguration ceremony will take place on Friday, 25 September at 6:00 p.m., in the Aula Magna of the University of Milan, at the University’s historic headquarters at 7 Via Festa del Perdono, Milan, and will feature a concert by the University of Milan Orchestra, conducted by Nicolò Suppa.
The event will open with institutional greetings from Rector Marina Brambilla, followed by contributions from Roberto Cornelli, the University’s Delegate for Peace and Social Justice and University representative for RUniPace; Enza Pellecchia, National Coordinator of RUniPace; and Arnoldo Mosca Mondadori, President of the Casa dello Spirito e delle Arti Foundation.
The evening will conclude with a concert by the University of Milan Orchestra, featuring some of the most powerful and significant works in the orchestral and symphonic repertoire: Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Max Bruch’s Romance for Violin and Orchestra, Gabriel Fauré’s Pavane, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 in C minor.
Attendance at the inauguration ceremony is free and open to everyone, subject to mandatory registration.
