The legal status of foreign nationals as a testing ground for contemporary law
On 5 and 6 November 2026, the 7th Annual Conference of the ‘Cesare Beccaria’ Department of Legal Sciences at the University of Milan will be held, entitled “La condizione giuridica dello straniero come laboratorio del diritto contemporaneo" [The legal status of foreign nationals as a testing ground for contemporary law].
The topics to be discussed – which are highly topical and will be approached from an interdisciplinary perspective – range from migration and labour exploitation to the issue of rights and procedural safeguards, also viewed through the prism of international law. Considerable attention will also be devoted to the processes of exclusion and inclusion of foreign minors, the issue of security, and welfare-related matters.
