Prison emergency between local realities and European perspectives
On May 19, 2025, the conference "Prison Emergency: Between Local Realities and European Perspectives. San Vittore in Dialogue with the University of Milan" will take place, organized by the Department of Legal Studies “Cesare Beccaria” of the University of Milan.
During the morning session, discussions will focus on concrete issues within the Milanese context: starting from the experience of the Criminal Justice Legal Clinic Help Desk at the University of Milan, the conversation will move to the complexities of San Vittore prison. In the afternoon, the prison emergency will be addressed from a broader, comparative perspective, through the analysis of selected European legal systems, concluding with an in-depth look at the Italian situation and potential solutions to the crisis.
