Presentation of the Book Critique of War Reason (Laterza, 2025) by Tommaso Greco
As part of the initiatives promoted within the program “La Statale for Peace” of the University of Milan, a new series of monthly events is planned, dedicated to the presentation of books that address, from different and interdisciplinary perspectives, current issues related to peace and social justice.
The aim is to offer a space for reflection, dialogue, and cultural engagement open to the academic community and the wider public, fostering exchange among scholars, authors, students, as well as citizens. Each meeting will provide an opportunity to explore, through reading and discussion, contemporary challenges linked to building peace and protecting fundamental rights.
On October 15, 2025, Tommaso Greco’s book “Critique of War Reason” (Laterza, 2025) will be presented. Alongside the author, speakers will include Niccolò Nisivoccia (lawyer and writer), Ferruccio Capelli (Director of the Casa della Cultura), and Roberto Cornelli (Full Professor of Criminology, University of Milan). The volume questions the idea that peace can only be achieved through war, instead inviting reflection on peace as a principle to be pursued in its own right.
