Observatory on Authoritarianism. First Study Day on “Penal Authoritarianism and Constitutional Rights”
On June 16, 2025, at the University of Milan, the First Study Day of the Observatory on Authoritarianism will be held, titled “Penal Authoritarianism and Constitutional Rights”.
This meeting – the first in a series to follow in September and December – will focus on the Decreto Sicurezza [Security Decree] and the increasing reliance on criminal law, as well as the proliferation of criminal offenses introduced by the Decree. In particular, it will offer an opportunity to reflect on the Decree in relation to constitutional rights, penal authoritarianism, and the securitarian shift in migration policies.
