Hoping Against All Hope. The Courage of Dialogue After Terrorism: Georges Salines and Azdyne Amimour Tell Their Stories

On May 13, 2025, the lecture “Hoping Against All Hope. The Courage of Dialogue After Terrorism: Georges Salines and Azdyne Amimour Tell Their Stories” will take place, organized by the Center for Family Studies and Research and the Federico Stella Advanced School of Criminal Justice at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.

The lecture will feature a dialogue between Georges Salines, who lost his daughter in the November 13, 2015 Bataclan attack, and Azdyne Amimour, the father of one of the attackers, who was himself killed by police forces. Through restorative justice pathways, their encounter has given rise to a unique dialogue— a calm reflection on grief, radicalization, and education. A lesson in tolerance and resilience, their story is also recounted in the book "All We Have Left is Words", published by Giunti.

Attendance is free, subject to availability, and requires registration by May 12 via the following online form
