Feeling Safe on Public Transport: A Priority for Everyone

The University of Milan and ATPL are promoting an event dedicated to the topic of perceived safety in local public transport, a key factor in ensuring accessible, inclusive, and sustainable mobility.

The event, which will take place on June 8, will provide an opportunity to present the findings of a study on perceptions of safety on public transport, exploring the experiences and needs of citizens and public transport users. Through discussions involving institutions, academia, and industry experts, the main factors influencing people's sense of safety during daily travel will be examined, along with possible strategies to improve it.

Following the institutional welcome remarks by the Rector of the University of Milan, Marina Brambilla, the survey results will be presented by Francesca Zajczyk, Chair of the Board of Directors of ATPL, and Jacopo Scari, the University's Mobility Manager. The event will continue with a roundtable discussion moderated by Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Sara Monaci, featuring representatives from the University and institutions engaged in sustainability, civic participation, and urban safety.
