The aim of this short contribution, written on the occasion of the presentation of Lorena Forni’s book “I contrari della pace” (Giappichelli, 2023), is to situate the words “war” and “peace” within the transformative dynamics inherent in political language. Viewing peace through the lens of language theory can be useful, provided that the dimension of power is taken into account.
